Don't forget this coming weekend is the World Famous South/North Park tasting event.  Can you believe it's been a year since the first happening??  We will be offering a special appetizer and drink from close to home, Barrio Logan.  Pulled Chicken Enchiladas (2 per order) and Blackberry/Lime Sangria, each $4.00  It all starts on Sunday 1/30/11 at 5:00pm and goes until we run out.

A Nod to Noshing

 

Chef Ricardo Heredia has designed a menu to celebrate sustenance with a nod to our standard menu - only bite-size- to entice you to try a few select items in a half size portion. Think of this as a morsel of gratitude for your empty stomachs - We thank you for your endless support.  Feel free to taste as many as you like, to share or hoard until your heart's delight. Enjoy!  Heck you could put together a five-course tasting menu for $25 if you take one plate from each section.

 

Our purpose...to serve you food with meaning prepared by people who care.

 

Street food                                                                       four dollars each

 

Falafel (Middle East) - chickpea fritter in a mini pita with tomato and onion accompanied by tahini and a sumac dusting

Lamb Kabob (Greece) - grilled with lemon and finished with extra virgin olive oil and tzatziki

 

Tapas                                                                                   four dollars each

 

Thai Oyster Shooter - fanny bay oyster, coconut milk, lemon grass, red chili, and cilantro

Texas Red Fish Ceviche - traditional Mexican style ceviche with citrus, avocado, cucumber, red onion accompanied by plantain chips

 

Alchemy Standards                                                     nine dollars each

Loup de Mer - pan roasted and served over sautéed spinach, pumpkin and smoked paprika lardons topped with an Asian pear brunoise

Flat Iron Steak - simply grilled estancia farms grass fed beef over fried yucca, topped with a grilled baby onion and chimichurri sauce

 

Vegetarian                                                                        four dollars each

 

Curry Pumpkin Bisque - lemon grass, kaffir lime leaf, coconut milk and cream, finished with pumpkin seeds and smoked paprika oil

Mixed Grain Salad - couscous, bulgur wheat and red quinoa surrounded by grape tomatoes and crumbled feta topped with fried carrot shavings

Happy New Year! We are welcoming the new year with our usual enthusiasm for food, wine, hand crafted cocktails, and culture.  One of our first events blends all of the above for a night filled with friends (even if you do not know it yet) and festivities, Dinner with 6 Strangers will be held on January 18th this month; remember to make your reservations as soon as possible so you don't miss out.  We are also coming up on our 2nd year of our Vegetarian Tasting Menu, which is every Wednesday night, three courses of fresh farmers market produce for $25, if you have not tried it yet you are missing out!  Stayed tuned for more events and creative menu options delivered to you from Chef Ricardo Heredia...and also look for our upcoming 2 year anniversary celebration at the end of February...it might just be one of the best times of your life.
